In a heartfelt outreach mission, Manu’s Helping Hands for Orphan Children (HHOC) recently conducted an awareness and counseling session for the Peddammalla community in Karimnagar—a marginalized group with over 100 individuals, including 50+ children, many of whom are caught in a tragic cycle of generational poverty.
🧭 The Reality on Ground
This community has long relied on begging as a primary livelihood, passed down through generations. While approximately 12 youth (aged around 25) have completed education up to 10th standard, most now work as:
The pattern continues as children mirror their parents’ hardships. Shockingly, many in 8th or 9th grade are unable to read or write their own names. Several younger children don’t know the alphabet, and school attendance remains painfully irregular. For these children, the value of education is almost nonexistent.

This case came to our attention through a compassionate outreach from Karimnagar Suman TV Anchor Mr. Anil. His plea led our team to immediately visit and assess the community’s living conditions and urgent needs.
